The SOS-Kinderdorf e.V. is a renowned aid organisation and a free, non-profit institution of child and youth assistance with 38 facilities throughout the federal territory and around 5,200 employees.

The SOS Children's Village Schwarzwald is a combination of outpatient and (partial) stationary child and youth aids. The differentiated care offers currently include two children's village families and five stationary children's and youth groups in Sulzburg, offers in the field of animal-assisted, art and music therapy, a children's daycare centre with hort, as well as outpatient, open, mobile and school-related assistance at a total of seven locations. In addition, the SOS Kinderdorf Schwarzwald is the carrier of the FreiburgerStraßenschule in cooperation with the Freiburger StrasseSchule e.V...
