Foreign Language Secretary (m/f/d)

The University of Mannheim is one of the leading universities in Germany with currently around 12,000 students at five faculties. The Philosophical Seminar has two chairs: the Chair of Theoretical Philosophy/Language Philosophy (Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Freitag) and the Chair of Practical Philosophy/Economic Ethics (Prof. Dr. Bernward Vocal). At present, twelve people are employed in the department. At the Philosophical Seminar, a full-time job is at the earliest possible date than Senior Consultant (m/w/d) to occupy. Its field of activity includes the independent organisation and processing of all secretariat tasks for the department as well as the general office organisation. General secretariat tasks with international correspondence Support in organizing courses and exams Management of chair and third-party accounts settlement of procurement procedures Participation in the management of personnel matters Consumption and first processing of student requests

a relevant completed vocational training for the office or foreign language secretary or a comparable qualification Ability to perform organisational and administrative tasks independently very good knowledge of German in word and writing good English skills in word and writing safe handling of common Microsoft Office applications (including Word, Excel, Outlook) Knowledge of how to use other digital applications (e.g. billing systems, learning platforms) are advantageous Experience in public services and/or education is advantageous
