Your tasks: Overall responsibility for the ML strategy of Practice Applied AI (architecture, standards, quality) Design and operation of company-critical ML systems (scalable inference, multi-model architectures, enterprise AI platforms) Evaluation and introduction of new ML paradigms (Foundation Models, Multi-Modal AI, Edge, Agentic Systems) based on structured assessments Construction and maintenance of a Technology Radar with clear adoption recommendations Trusted Advisor for AI at C-Level/Board level at Mercedes-Benz and other customers Development of holistic AI strategies (Governance, Organisation, Build-vs-Buy) Head of complex transformation projects incl. Budget Responsibility and Top Management Control Building long-term customer relationships as a strategic partner Building and professional leadership of ML Engineering Practice Development of methods, standards and best practices for scalable implementationResponsibility for upskilling and future competence development in the team Mentoring of Senior Consultants Direction PrincipalExternal Position through Publications, Conference Contributions and WhitepaperDefinition and Control of Adoption Processes Building an active demo and evaluation culture (e.g. Tech Sprints) Establishing structures that promote learning and adoption speed

Your profile: Reliable experience in ML/Data Science, also in technical leadership Deep expertise along the entire ML stack (Data Engineering, Training, Serving, Monitoring, MLOps) Experience with LLMs and Foundation Models (Fine-Tuning, RLHF, RAG, Agentic Systems) Strategic consulting experience on C-Level incl. Budget responsibility Detectable ability to detect, evaluate and scale new technologies at an early stage High learning agility with concrete examples of technology evaluation and adoption Technological groundwork combined with innovation joy Ability to convey complex content according to target groups (engineering to board) Entrepreneurial thinking with focus on impact Studies in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, etc. (Promotion of Advantage) German and English Relevant certifications, publications or comparable evidence More information: The activity is to be filled in full time at the Leinfelden-Echterdingen or Berlin site at the earliest possible time and is indefinite.
