“Research for a life without cancer” – this is our task at the German Cancer Research Center. We investigate how cancer is created, identify cancer risk factors and look for new strategies that prevent people from suffering from cancer. We develop new methods that allow tumours to be diagnosed more precisely and cancer patients to be treated more successfully. Every contribution counts – whether in research, administration or infrastructure. This makes our daily work so meaningful and exciting. The Core Facility “Centre for Preclinical Research” supports the scientific working groups of the house in the attitude and breeding of animals and in the implementation of experiments. The team, consisting of animal nurses:inside, veterinarians:inside the administration, ensures that all animals are kept at the highest level of hygiene in accordance with the applicable national and international legislation and ensures the welfare of animals. Support of scientists:in the application and implementation of animal experiments Advising the animal experimenter:inside to experimental animal testing techniques and 3R possibilities Clinical:r Veterinary: doctor in experimental and posture areas Creation of SOPs and training Support in the further development of the database of animal husbandry (Mosaic Vivarium) Support for the animal-experimental course of the EU function A Support of the veterinary apotheke Testing of animal tests and records Further training for the specialist: doctor for experimental animal studies possible

Complete studies of veterinary medicine If possible, doctorate and/or specialist: doctor for animal welfare or for experimental animal studies Knowledge of animal welfare conditions Experience in animal experiments High level of contact, communication and team capability Self-responsible and self-organized working methods Very good knowledge of German and English in word and writing
