Lead a team advancing analytical methods and predictive models to enhance understanding and performance of biotech-derived ingredients. Strengthen data-driven decision-making across global R&D sites through robust statistical tools, uniform methods, and real-time data insights.
Key Responsibilities Analytical Development Develop & validate methods for product characterization (rheology, crystal morphology, impurity profiling, etc.) Define critical attributes for new ingredients Data Science and Modeling Build predictive models linking molecular structure to functional performance Apply multivariate analysis, DoE, and real-time data pipelines Leadership & Standardization Lead a small team of scientists and assistants Standardising analytical SOPs and QA/QC metrics across sites Cross-Functional Collaboration Ensure method transfer to QC and MSAT teams Interface with external labs and customers to support analytics and troubleshooting
MSc or PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Data Science or similar ≥2 years' industry experience in analytical method development and/or data science within an R&D environment Skilled in analytical instrumentation (rheometers, laser diffraction, XRD, GC-MS/LC-MS, and statistical tools (e.g., JMP, Python, R) Experienced in DoE and modelling complex systems Strong leadership and communication skills and strong cross-functional collaboration Fluent written and spoken English skills; German language skills would be compromise
