The Institute for Meteorology and Climate Research - Atmospheric Environmental Research (IMKIFU), Campus Alpin of KIT in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, is the largest Bavarian climate research institution and the oldest research institution on global environmental issues in Germany. It examines the changes in the atmosphere, the water balance and the living conditions for vegetation and society in global climate change. The research findings are communicated in international publications, but also influence applications of politics, administration and companies and are made available to citizens for information. For our Campus Alpin (IMKIFU) in Garmisch-Partenkirchen we are looking for a dedicated and organized personality as an institute manager (m/w/d).

In this responsible position, you take over the organizational and administrative management of the institute in close coordination with the institute management and contribute significantly to the smooth running of the daily business and to the further development of our processes.

Your tasks here are: Organisation and coordination of the Institute's administrative processes Support of the Institute Management in Strategic and Operational Affairs Expected personnel and resource planning and coordination of internal processes Budget planning, controlling and management Communication with internal service units and external partners, authorities and foreign companies Support for academic staff in third-party projects and in reporting and documentation Organisation and guarantee of occupational safety at the Institute and coordination of the Safety Committee (ASA) Ensuring compliance with internal guidelines and legal requirements

Successfully completed academic studies (Master/Diplom (Uni))) preferably in business administration, administration management, public management or a comparable degree course a promotion in a relevant area is desirable, but not absolutely necessary multi-year professional experience in project and administration management is expected Embossed organisational and communication skills Independent, structured and solution-oriented mode of operation Safe handling of current MS Office applications Analytical thinking and economic understanding Very good knowledge of German and English Sensitivity in dealing with people of different origin and culture readiness to travel to Karlsruhe, in particular
