Number: MER00047OC In the Group Research & Development (R&D) of Mercedes Benz Cars, you shape the automotive generation of the future and work on the latest innovations. In the UX Modules and Systems department, we are responsible for the development of future operating elements and displays of the interior and thus contribute significantly to the vehicle DNA. Our team “Lenkrad” is responsible for the advance and series development of future steering and operating systems. The Steer-by-Wire technology and automated driving create completely new design possibilities for the steering wheel and the controls of the future. We are looking for you to support our team. With us you work in an extremely exciting and complex environment with a variety of disciplines such as e.g. design, safety, electrical/electronics, mechanics, ergonomics, UI/UX, steering/driving functions, automated driving, AMG as well as complete vehicle and series project organization. These challenges include: Introduction to previous work

Construction and Testing of Steering Functional Patterns (Additive Manufacturing-/3D Printing Technology, EE)

Working with the improvement of new steering wheel patterns with regard to usability/UI/HMI and ergonomics

Planning, preparation and implementation of driving tests

Operation and optimization of an experimental setup “Gaming-Simulator” Mechanical and electrical-electronic optimization

Concept assessments with the expert group

Planning, preparation and support of customer studies Optimization and testing of suitable simulation software

Project coordination and scheduling with internal and external partners

Evaluation and presentation of results

Working with the development of innovative steering concepts

Analysis of AI/AI applications in product development Research state of technology and benchmarking worldwide

Process support and optimization in the team

The activity can begin from November 2026.

Studies in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, mechatronics, vehicle engineering, electrical/electronics or a comparable study direction

First experience in project management of advantage

First experience in component development of advantage

MS Office (Powerpoint, Excel, Word, Outlook)

Ready to incorporate into a wide range of topics in mechanics, EE, software

Experience with gaming and/or simulation software as well as AI/AI tools

CAD experience (NX, CATIA, ...) of advantage

Mechatronics experience in theory and practice of advantage

High analytical, strategic and conceptual skills
