Scientist with a focus on AI in education

With more than 350 employees, we develop intelligent solutions for the optimization of products, services, processes and structures for our supporters and customers from the economy, as well as for the development of new digital business models. In the "Knowledge Discovery" department, we work on innovative topics in the field of artificial intelligence and the use of large language models in companies. In addition to project work, our Data Science Academy also offers training and advice for professionals and managers who want to further qualify in the field of AI. In order to shape the future of continuing vocational training with AI, we are dealing with the following questions:

• How can Large Language Models (LLMs) enrich vocational education?
• How can high-quality learning content be created automatically by means of AI and used in a didactic sense?
• How can AI create a learning culture in which people develop their full potential?

If you are passionate about these questions, have a passion for knowledge transfer and bring experiences both in pedagogy and in the methods of AI, we invite you to become part of our interdisciplinary research team. You will take care of the research and development of new AI approaches for the education and the further development of our AI training program - with your own ideas can be introduced and realized.

What you do with us

• You're researching - with possibility of promotion - in the field of AI for education with focus on creating educational content with generic AI, e.g. automatic creation of learning modules, tests and exercises and personalized learning paths. You publish your research results at high-level international conferences and represent our research topics in dialogue with our customers
• You develop and evaluierst prototypes and AI tools for professional training (e.g. for professionals, training providers and training providers).
• You develop exciting and didactically sound teaching concepts for presence events as well as e-learning on the subject of artificial intelligence. In close cooperation with colleagues in the Institute and the Fraunhofer Association, you ensure that our training content is always up to date.
• You carry out independent training in the areas of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning and share your expert knowledge with the participants
• You advise potential customers and design individual training curricula in the corporate learning segment if necessary.

What you bring

• Completed academic degree (Master, Diploma, also PhD) in the field of Artificial Intelligence or in an adjoining area
• Funded knowledge of AI, LLMs, Prompt Engineering, Vibe-Coding or generic AI
• Experience in pedagogical contexts, ideally in vocational training or training, in the design of scientific training or other learning opportunities
• Experience with Webinartools (Zoom, MS Teams) and Learning Management Systems as well as with Authoring tools (Articulate 360 / Rise 360) are of advantage
• Safe appearance and excellent communication skills and a high target group orientation
• Ability to present work results in oral and written form in an address-oriented and convincing manner.
• German and English (both C1)
