Loan losses, fluctuating market prices, operational disruptions, infrastructure failures, liquidity bottlenecks, regulatory requirements and legal issues can all affect the bank's capital and reputation. It is the responsibility of the Chief Risk Office (CRO) to identify, evaluate, manage and mitigate these risks. For this purpose, the CRO uses strict monitoring and measurement procedures within a fixed framework of principles, working closely with the DB and other infrastructure sectors. Risk management is constantly and flexibly developing to keep pace with the increasingly complex financial products and the high market dynamics. Location: Frankfurt am Main Start & duration: July 2026; 12 months

During your 12-month trainee period, you are an integral part of the risk team, working in our daily business as well as on special projects, and performing various functions within the CRO. You gain practical experience and gain a comprehensive overview of the CRO, benefiting from professional training and personal mentoring. For example, if you are planning analyses to support decisions in risk management, e.g. by obtaining basics in the credit rating determination of borrowers, work on specific credit decision issues, identify further types of risk and their causes, you will be involved in the calculation of potential risks and the determination of risk readiness, formulate risk mitigation solutions and contribute to effective communication with managers, employees and regulators. We train you in up to three areas from Treasury Risk Management, Credit Risk Management, Enterprise Risk Management, Model Risk Management, Operational Risk Management and product-related risk functions of Private Bank CRO.

You are awakened, curious and adaptable, have excellent interpersonal and analytical skills and can demonstrate good academic achievements. A study focusing on business, finance, economy, mathematics or engineering would be desirable. You should not only have a passion for the financial world, but also have a strong interest in risk management. You have already shown outstanding achievements in your studies and want to learn with the same intensity. You will benefit from working in a highly cooperative and diverse environment with some of the best minds in banking and risk management. You should bring good knowledge of German and English to be able to connect yourself well in the entire bank. To participate in the program, you must meet the following requirements: You should study between 1 January 2025 and 31st July 2026 successfully complete and no longer have open courses You should be ready to start a full-time job from July 2026, taking into account local labour laws and visa regulations You should not bring more than 12 months of full-time work experience (except for practice)
