The professorship represents the teaching and research in space engineering, focusing on the system-oriented development, design and integration of spacecraft, in particular satellites. Competence and commitment to the development of their own research and development priorities is assumed to make the profile even more attractive for students as part of the faculty's degree programmes. In addition, deeper knowledge and relevant professional practice are expected in the development of spacecraft at system level, for example in the areas of system design, system integration, verification or testing. A personality is sought which can make its competence acquired in research and in professional practice usable for our students.
