Her new job is located at the Fraunhofer headquarters in the department »B37 Central IT Service Center«: in the team »Fraunhofer Microsoft 365 Operation«. This is where company-wide IT infrastructure services focusing on cloud and collaboration technologies (such as Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Entra ID/Azure Cloud) as well as AI-based services (e.g. Microsoft 365 Copilot or GitHub Copilot) are controlled and further developed for our internal customers in all Fraunhofer institutions and for the Fraunhofer headquarters. You work in an interdisciplinary team at the Bonn site or alternatively in Munich on exciting and innovative topics. We operate and develop a large Fraunhofer Private Cloud On-Premise (with data centers in Munich, Birlinghoven and Frankfurt). At the same time, we are shaping the use of public cloud services – in particular Microsoft 365 – and driving forward the introduction of AI services such as Microsoft 365 Copilot within the Fraunhofer Society. As a Microsoft 365 copilot engineer, you are responsible for the further development and management of the Microsoft-365 copilot environment, but also for topics such as GitHub copilot in the Fraunhofer company.

Development and support of the copilot environment: You develop and maintain the Microsoft 365 copilot environment within the Fraunhofer Society. This activity requires great expertise in the Microsoft-365 environment as well as AI-based services and is of great importance for our digital innovation power. Cooperation and integration: You work closely with colleagues from different teams to continuously improve the functionality and integration of Microsoft-365 services – in particular the copilot functions. Security and Compliance: You implement and maintain security policies and compliance measures for Microsoft-365 applications, especially for Microsoft 365 Copilot. This ensures that all systems comply with the strict data protection and compliance requirements and that the data integrity within the Fraunhofer Society is maintained at any time. Support and training: You support internal users and support training on the functions and best practices of Microsoft 365 Copilot. This ensures that our employees can use the new copilot tools effectively and efficiently. Project management for introduction and optimization: You take over the planning and management of projects for the introduction and optimization of Microsoft 365 Copilot Services. These strategically important projects contribute significantly to the digital transformation and efficiency increase in our institutes. Extension of Microsoft Copilot by own agents: You design and create your own Microsoft copilot agents (using Microsoft Copilot Studio) to adapt Microsoft 365 Copilot specifically to the operating processes and our needs. Take into account all necessary conditions (e.g. suitable data sources, authorizations and technical infrastructure) for their safe and successful use. Operation and continuous improvement: You ensure smooth operation and continuous development of Microsoft-365 copilot tools. This ensures high availability of the services and great satisfaction among the benefiters. You support the operation of the GitHub copilot infrastructure, which offers the software developers of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft an AI-assisted tool.

Completed academic studies in computer science, engineering or a comparable subject Comprehensive experience with Microsoft 365 as well as the underlying cloud technologies (Microsoft Entra ID/Azure Cloud) and ideally first experience with Microsoft 365 Copilot or comparable AI-based assistance systems Ideally certification as Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert or comparable qualification as well as automation skills, such as PowerShell and Ansible, and practice with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab/GitHub) and DevOps methods Copilot Agents (e.g. with Microsoft Copilot Studio) and the necessary conditions (e.g. with regard to required licenses, permissions and data connections) Extraordinary interest in innovative technologies and new IT trends German and very good English Team orientation as well as a solution-oriented and independent operation
