Number: MER0004056 The Passive Security Division is responsible for the development and interpretation of all systems for the protection of vehicle occupants and unprotected road users in the event of a crash load, taking into account all global legal, rating and Mercedes-Benz internal requirements. This includes the functional design and vehicle-specific tuning of the restraint systems (air bag and belts) as well as the occupant safety-relevant design of interior components. You put your theoretical knowledge into practice, gain valuable experiences and work on pioneering projects with

You support the development team in the complete development process of passive safety, from parts procurement and logistics to final testing in the vehicle

Their tasks are diverse and practical: You prepare technical data

Create presentation documents

You contribute to the documentation of development results

You support the development of innovative safety concepts and components for future Mercedes-Benz VANs

You cooperate in the planning, supervision and detailed evaluation of test series, both internally and external partners (e.g. crash tests, tests of airbag and safety belt systems)

Activity can begin from April 2026

Technical course of study, e.g. mechanical engineering, vehicle engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics, industrial engineering or a comparable department

Very good knowledge of German and English in word and writing are essential for international cooperation

Safe handling of MS Office applications is a prerequisite

First experiences or prior knowledge in the field of passive safety, construction, simulation or experiment are desirable
