Screening of current scientific literature on specific advanced position measurement methods

Design of an experimental setup and execution of measurements

Research and implementation of new algorithms to improve your measurement results

Validation of your knowledge using simulations

Documentation and presentation of your results at regular intervals

In a master thesis, the exact topic and the focus are coordinated together

Master's degree in engineering, technical optics, photonics, physics or a related subject

Strong theoretical background in the field of optics combined with the willingness to work experimentally

Ideally first experience in an optics laboratory

Previous experience with at least one programming language (e.g. Python or MATLAB)

Self-employed and structured working methods and curiosity on challenging topics

Interest in measuring technology and in remembering the special challenges

A certain “hands-on mentality” in the laboratory

Current German or English
