Editor (m/f/d)

You are responsible for the technology resort in the BDW print edition – from the topic discovery to the ready-to-print articles. From a scientific and social perspective, You observe and evaluate developments in technological and engineering fields – including artificial intelligence, mobility, energy, digitization, or material sciences – and are based on a thematic plan for the monthly BDW printed editions. You conceptualize title topics, focuses, article series and individual articles with regard to central issues and knowledge to be communicated. At article level, You work with the image editor and the layouter in terms of graphics, info boxes and visualization concept. You create small texts and take over the textual fine grinding in the layout. You maintain and optimize the author network, commission articles and edit raw texts. You write articles yourself and perform interviews. You conceptualize and produce themes and special publications. You prepare articles for playing on our website and on social media. You maintain contacts with important research institutions in Germany, such as Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, TUM or KIT. You represent the BDW brand at panel discussions or moderate events. Together with the editor-in-chief and publishers, You develop modern revenue models, develop new projects and implement them.

Complete university studies and comprehensive knowledge in the fields of technology and natural sciences Journalist training and professional experience Basic data journalism knowledge desirable Experience in handling editorial systems, versed with the Microsoft Office Suite Good English knowledge of word and writing Team skills
