The focus of the content is the individual, general social counselling of hearing-damaged and deaf people in the Ennepe-Ruhr-Krei on questions from all relevant areas of life, such as, for example, securing living, work, health care and application.

If necessary, you will support the applicants for the coordination of appointments, the placement of sign language interpreters and forward to problem-oriented assistance.

In addition to self-help for those affected, you are available to offices, institutions, schools, hospitals, associations, self-help groups and other institutions for questions. This includes the organisation and implementation of information events for affected persons, multipliers, services and facilities.

In addition to a completed study of (social) pedagogy, social work or a comparable qualification, you have the ability to provide individual advice in the sense of the needs of the people seeking advice.

You identify with the target group of hearing-damaged and deaf people and can translate into specific needs, including in the field of communication and handling,

If possible, you have knowledge of the German sign language to conduct consultations in this language. If not, the willingness to learn the German sign language is assumed to be sufficient

Self-organization and self-responsible work, team skills and communication strength as well as a self-safe appearance

Solid knowledge in dealing with office programs and Internet

Access to health/social issues and experience in counselling and cooperation with volunteers are desirable

You are flexible and ready to support in the afternoon, evening and weekend events if needed
