In the Compute and Storage Systems department, we are looking for a dedicated employee or a dedicated employee with experience in the operation of numerous services and IT infrastructure. The focus of this site is on the support of the Licensing Management team and associated topics such as the operation of web applications. Your tasks include: Administration of various Linux servers (including license server, web server) the management and maintenance of license information and contracts primarily of scientific and technical software; User support Working with LUIS users and administration of IT systems and interfaces Support of central tools in license management Maintenance of websites and documentation on specific software products

You have completed university education (Bachelor) in computer science or a scientific discipline and ideally have several years of professional experience in Linux system administration, ideally in comparable areas. You master the script language Python and have knowledge in the programming language Java. You have experience in the safe, structured and performant operation of web applications with web servers (e.g. Apache HTTPd, Nginx) and Java application servers (e.g. Tomcat, Jetty). We wish to experience the handling and operation of container and virtualization technologies (e.g. QEMU/KVM, oVirt, Proxmox, Docker/Podman). Experiences with databases (MySQL/MariaDB, PostgreSQL) and directory services such as LDAP are advantageous. First experiences with the management of licenses and the operation of software license servers are also advantageous. The ''git' version control system can be used safely, in the handling of open source solutions you are experienced and write clearly structured documentation. Ideally, you have knowledge of the field of scientific and technical software (e.g. ANSYS, Abaqus, AutoDesk...). You are an open-minded person, possess good communicative skills and act in a solution-oriented and targeted manner. Good self-organization and resilience are your strengths as well as teamwork. Good knowledge of English in word and writing are desired, and you also have good knowledge of German (level based on at least C1) in word and writing, which allow you to serve our users in our two working languages.
