As fire protection officer / fire protection officer, you take on a responsible specialist role and contribute significantly to ensuring the safe operation of one of the largest university clinics in Europe. In direct cooperation with the fields of health care, research, teaching and administration, you will continuously develop the operational fire protection together with the Charité organizational units and accompany various projects at the Charité sites. The body is assigned to the occupational safety office. The main activity area includes the Charité Campus Mitte (CCM) and Charité Campus Buch (CBB). In addition, if necessary, the activity includes cross-site tasks, in particular as part of the mutual representation at other locations of the Charité.

Overview of the job Consultation and support of the persons responsible for the function of the employer, the executives and the organisational units of the Charité, including their subsidiaries, in all matters of preventive, organisational and operational fire protection Creation or updating of the fire protection regulations and participation in the implementation of existing fire protection concepts Participation in the determination of fire and explosion hazards as well as advice in the safe storage of flammable liquids, gases and other hazardous substances – as far as You concern fire protection Fire-protection technical support for new, re- and extension buildings, changes in use, rentals and procurement as well as participation in the implementation of regulatory and fire-protection regulations Implementation of internal fire protection efforts and participation in public fire safety shows Monitoring the usability of escape and rescue routes Participation, control and monitoring of the updating of flight and rescue routes, firefighters and alarm plans Detection, documentation and traceability of fire-protection-relevant defects as well as the development of appropriate measures to eliminate defects Participation in the further development of the organisational fire protection and the internal emergency management of the Charité Planning, organisation and implementation of presence instructions, training and broaching exercises, including workplace-related instruction and practical instructions in the handling of fire extinguishers, as well as professional design and maintenance of digital instruction and training offers

We are looking for completed training as fire protection officer / fire protection officer (d/w/m) according to DGUV Information 205-003 or a comparable recognised qualification (e.g. according to vfdb Directive 12-09/01); an additional qualification in fire protection for hospitals and healthcare facilities is desirable Knowledge of preventive and organisational fire protection as well as relevant legal, construction and technical regulations knowledge of hospital-specific organisational structures and operations or the willingness to work into the specific requirements of a complex hospital operation Good knowledge of building, information and communication technology related to preventive and organisational fire protection as well as basic knowledge of occupational and health protection Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (especially Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) as well as dealing with Adobe Acrobat Pro; Experiences with digital approach, documentation or deficiencies management systems (e.g. Themis) are desirable Embossed organisational skills and a conceptual, structured and solution-oriented approach High level of self-sufficiency, sense of responsibility and decision-making, as well as safe occurrence and enforcement Very good communication capability and the ability to convey fire-protection situations according to target groups Very good knowledge of German in word and writing as well as safety in carrying out training, instruction and presentations before larger groups Good knowledge of English as well as the ability to carry out instruction and training in English as required are desirable
