Senior Site Reliability Engineer (m/f/d)

You take operational responsibility for the maturity of data-intensive SaaS services and bring SRE/DevOps practices such as SLOs/SLIs, operational metrics, incident learning, runbooks and continuous improvement in the engineering everyday. You shape the operation and further development of our central database systems for growing volumes of data, complex query gates and different tenant profiles - and you are thinking about data model, data access, deployment, operating costs and product impact. You address scaling proactively – with capacity planning, performance testing, tenant isolation and suitable strategies such as partitioning or sharding before scaling limits become customer problems. You think operational capacity as a product property: Our services are designed to be reliably installable, diagnoseable and operable in both on-premises and customer-related environments - with robust migrations, diagnostic capability under different operating conditions and performance on heterogeneous infrastructure. You anchor operational knowledge in the team, strengthen joint operational responsibility and support Tech Lead, Product Management and Engineering team as a savings partner in reliability, scaling and operating topics. You use AI and AIOps approaches pragmatically for better operations - for example for analysis, automation, documentation and the recognition of recurring patterns - and critically evaluate AI-related operating requirements with regard to scaling, costs, observability, security and client separation.

You bring senior experience in the operation of productive SaaS or platform services - including real production responsibility and continuous improvement. Production-related situations such as incidents, stabilization, operational improvements or on-call/professional models are familiar to you. You are not waiting for tickets, but you recognize operational risks autonomously and translate them into actionable improvement work. You understand relational and/or analytical database systems in operation and have worked practically with them: Performance, Query behavior, migrations, data growth, monitoring, backup/restore, recovery and scaling boundaries are familiar topics for you - especially PostgreSQL and ClickHouse are relevant. You have experience with scaling in real production environments - with growing data volume, increasing usage, client growth or heterogeneous workloads - and assess technical, economic and operational impacts in interaction. You bring practical DevOps/SRE experience in production-related environments - from CI/CD, infrastructure and Kubernetes to cloud platforms, observability, automation and reliability engineering. You are hands-on and structuring unsharp operational problems independently - from analysis and prioritization to improvements that you can implement with the team in a sustainable manner. You can talk to the engineering team at eye level about architecture, APIs, persistence and runtime behavior of data-intensive services. You like to work hybridly and see regular presence on site as part of effective cooperation, especially for austerity, operational clarifications and joint learning in the team.
