Apply here BfR Jobportal The BfR shall, independently on the basis of internationally recognised scientific assessment criteria, draw up opinions and opinions on food, feed and chemicals safety and health consumer protection in Germany. In these areas it advises the Federal Government as well as other institutions and interest groups. This makes the BfR an important contribution to protecting people. The Department of Information Technology with more than 80 employees plans, acquires and operates IT for the entire BfR to ensure secure, flexible and efficient IT support in performing all the tasks of the institute. IT enables new data-intensive scientific methods and supports cross-authorities projects with its own software development. It is also a driving force in the digitization of the administration and the productive use of artificial intelligence. All these tasks require a robust, reliable and efficient IT infrastructure. The security and availability of the systems is a priority for IT at BfR.

Conception, planning, selection, introduction, development and development of physical and virtual IT infrastructure systems such as: storage systems, SAN networks, backup and archiving systems Installation, administration, operation, maintenance, updating and optimization of hardware and software of the existing physical and virtual IT infrastructure Error analysis and troubleshooting for technical problems and failures of the physical and virtual IT infrastructure Creation and maintenance of documentation and instructions on the physical and virtual IT infrastructure Logging and operational monitoring of existing IT infrastructure

Completed university studies (Diplom (FH) or Bachelor) of Computer Science, a comparable subject or a completed education as a specialist with professional experience and proven skills and knowledge Knowledge of the reliable operation of central server infrastructures (hardware/software) Basic knowledge of IT network technologies Basic knowledge of MS Windows and Linux OS Strong sense of responsibility, high readiness for learning and training Motivation to work on new topics Certain and independent operation Cooperation and team skills as well as strong communication skills Knowledge of German and English in word and writing readiness to verify safety under the Security Audit Act (SÜG) In the case of foreign educational qualifications, proof of equivalence with a German degree is required (see: anabin.kmk.org). The proof must be available in German or English. Where applicants do not fulfil the full requirement profile, a task transfer within the framework of a lower remuneration group is considered. The grouping is therefore appropriate for tasks and qualifications.
