In our psychiatric hospital, around 17,000 patients are treated in seven separate clinics of different disciplines at seven locations each year in a stationary, daily clinical and outpatient manner. With around 1,850 employees, the clinic is one of the largest employers in the Heilbronn-Franken region. The Klinikum am Weissenhof is recognized as an academic teaching hospital at the University of Heidelberg and is involved in the teaching of psychiatry and psychotherapy at the Faculty of Medicine. The Department of Forensic Psychiatry and Psychotherapy currently comprises six stations for the treatment of patients who are subject to Sections 63 and 64 of the German Civil Code, with 100 plan beds and an external group of persons available. Our Forensic specialist ambulance continues to care for many of the patients after the dismissal from the dimensional rule.
