For all engineering works in the HPA area of competence, the department of Bauwerksprüfung/Bauwerksberatung conducts regular structural checks and supervision of the IST state to ensure the stability, safety and durability of the building and in the case of new and remodeling measures. Construction materials, construction processes, material and manufacturing processes.

Our heart beats for the Port of Hamburg, which connects us! In your role as a building test engineer*in, you conduct independent tests according to DIN 1076 and other relevant standards. Based on your results, you write test reports and recommend measures to preserve the buildings. Together with engineers and your team, you work cooperatively on solutions, get involved in specialist groups and develop your skills. With the help of modern technologies such as drones, 3D scanning and BIM, you carry out digital structural checks and analyze the data obtained for sound state evaluation. Within the framework of the specialist building supervision, you can independently advise HPA services on building materials and carry out sample collections as well as material testing according to DIN specifications, including supervision of external test sites and preparation of sound evaluations and reports. In the development of research and experimental programs, you actively participate, coordinate investigations including external partners and guide practical guidelines for the HPA from the results.

You have a degree in civil engineering or an equivalent degree with corresponding knowledge and skills. Finding knowledge of construction engineering as well as experience in building testing and maintenance of bridges will help you. You know the relevant rules like DIN 1076, Ri-EBW or VDI 6200 and can safely apply them. Ideally, you are familiar with PSA for rope-proof work as well as with specialist software such as BIM, SIBB or m2in. Experiences with 3D scanners, drones and deeper knowledge in steel construction, welding technology, corrosion protection and non-destructive testing are also advantageous. Your work is technically-analytical, scientifically sound, targeted and independent. Through safe occurrence, team skills, negotiation skills and physical fitness for cable-supported work, you convince in everyday work.
