The SOS-Kinderdorf e.V. is a renowned aid organisation and a free, non-profit institution of child and youth assistance with 38 facilities throughout the federal territory and around 5,200 employees.

The SOS Children's Village Niederrhein is active in child and youth assistance, vocational education and counselling. We take care of children, young people, adults and families in special situations of life. Our facility is represented at the Niederrhein in Kleve, Kevelaer, Emmerich am Rhein, Geldern and Duisburg with more than ten locations. Around 300 employees help, support and accompany 2,500 people, participants and visitors.

At the SOS-Kinderdorf Niederrhein we are looking for a Senior Consultant (m/w/d) als Spielgruppenleitung im Familienforum Kermisdahl in parttime (12 hours/Where)

The family forum Kermisdahl is a living house of encounter for families, children and people from the neighborhood. In our rooms there are various offers for different target groups. Many of them are supported by dedicated volunteers – including German courses, remedies and creative, sports and playful activities. An important part of our house is our café, which offers breakfast, lunch and coffee and cakes, and serves as an open meeting point for visitors. It complements the diverse range of family forums and creates space for encounter, exchange and community. In our game group you accompany children in an important development phase. You enable them to experience first common games and learning experiences and create an environment in which You feel safe, welcome and seen. Your tasks include: Support of children in free play and support in the gathering of first social and motor experiences Designing a safe, loving and stimulating gaming environment with suitable materials and simple game and creative offerings Promoting curiosity, social interaction and movement through age-appropriate impulses Conducting the game group parallel to the German courses in our institution and thus ensuring reliable childcare during this course esteemed accompaniment of a group in which many children participate with migration background Creation of an open and respectful space where children can learn from each other playfully conscientious implementation of child and care protection short exchange with parents and close coordination with the family forum team

a basic pedagogical qualification or experience in working with children (e.g. as an educator or nursein or social education or training managerin or through comparable practical experience) Basic knowledge of early childhood development, in particular in the areas of game development, social interaction and promotion of motor skills Intercultural sensitivity and joy in working with families with a migration background basic communication skills in German (further language skills are welcome, but no requirement) a professional approach to the caregivers a facing, patient and appreciation attitude towards children and families Joy of teamwork and responsible and reliable work
