Head of Procurement & Category Management (m/f/d)

In this key role, you take responsibility for the strategic development of Procurement & Category Management in an internationally growing EPC company in the solar industry. A challenging and dynamic project environment with high entrepreneurial relevance and close cooperation with management and international partners awaits you. At the same time, the position offers you great scope for design in the further development of structures, processes and cross-departmental cooperation. The aim is to establish and further develop procurement as a modern value creation, control and risk management area.

Your tasks: Total responsibility for Procurement & Category Management including strategic purchasing, Category Management and Supplier Management (15 employees; Purchase volume in the middle three-digit million area) Further development of the purchasing organization along defined maturity and transformation goals as well as control of cross-functional category teams Development and implementation of company-wide procurement and product group strategies Responsibility for supplier strategy and qualification as well as risk management and sustainable supplier management Support in the negotiation of international framework agreements and strategic commitments, in particular in international project business Introduction and professionalisation of transparent controlling and KPI structures to control costs, risks, performance and security of supply Further development of processes, governance structures and purchasing policies and ensuring compliance Drivers of digitization and standardization of purchasing processes, in particular in the ERP/APS environment Support for operational business units in early project and offer phases to secure margins, delivery capacity and project quality Leadership, development and scaling of the existing team as well as building a powerful, strategically oriented shopping organization

Multiannual experience in leading function in strategic purchasing, procurement or category management, ideally in a project-oriented industrial, EPC, plant engineering, energy or infrastructure environment Detectional successes in the further development of organisational structures in purchasing and in change and transformation processes Ability to promote cross-border cooperation and establish binding standards in a matrix-oriented organisation Experience in managing complex stakeholder structures within growing international organisations High levels of communication and professional action at management level Entrepreneurial thinking leaders with high self-responsibility and change competence Strategic and analytical thinking combined with pragmatic hands-on mentality Embossed understanding of international procurement markets, supplier management and contract designs Safe handling of ERP systems and digital procurement tools German and English knowledge in word and writing
