Number: MER00046MZ Drive Systems Software Integration & Control (RD/EDS) at Mercedes-Benz is responsible for software coordination in the drivetrain. We continuously develop our processes and rely on agile working methods and innovative solutions to enable the most efficient coordination of our drive software. Data, automation and AI play a decisive role in this. These challenges include: Active cooperation on and further development of established enabling initiatives such as our AI Lab – You make the concept yours and adapt it further

Immediately configuring the enabling and communication strategy for the sustainable anchoring of AI and automation (EDS.AI) in the organization

Conception and implementation of qualification, training and knowledge transfer formats that inspire people for AI and automation

Practical analysis of acceptance, adoption and change processes – as a basis for your scientific question

Close cooperation in the team with focus on competence development, human-tech interaction and organisational learning

The active collaboration in the team will provide you with the practical context and the data on which you develop your doctoral project scientifically. The activity can start from October 2026. Adjustment requirement is the support of the doctoral project by a university lecturer. The selection of a corresponding person is the responsibility of the doctoral student.

Complete studies in technical education, technology management, economic engineering, education, economic psychology or a comparable course of studies

Joy in working actively, shaping and inspiring people for technology

Interest in or first experience in the areas of digitalization, knowledge transfer, change management or AI

Embossed communication, moderation and conception strength as well as joy in working with interdisciplinary teams

Analytical thinkability and a good technical basic understanding for data-driven and AI-based solutions

Own initiative, design will and hands-on mentality
