The development of XR-KI frameworks is an exciting and forward-looking field: Such a framework can integrate different technologies such as augmented reality, virtual reality and mixed reality to increase the efficiency and functionality of XR applications. This includes model generation, model optimization and implementation of contextual AI to create an immersive and interactive experience. To ensure that these technologies are used optimally, we want to develop a comprehensive XR-KI framework that facilitates and improves the integration of AI into XR applications. In order to evaluate and optimize this framework, we conduct a case study in which we model and test different application areas at Mercedes-Benz AG.

What tasks do you expect?

• Scientific preparation of the research stand with focus on relevant research questions and derivation of hypotheses.
• Cooperation with several parties responsible for XR technologies and AI integration.
• Analysis and evaluation of the current application of XR technologies in various areas and their optimization potential by AI.
• Development of an XR-KI framework that fits perfectly into the architecture of Mercedes-Benz AG vehicles.
• Investigation of weaknesses and challenges in the integration of AI into XR applications and measures to overcome them.

Qualifications

How do you fit into our team?

• You have a master's degree in computer science, media informatics or a comparable technical/scientific field.
• You like to work both in the team and individually and want to work scientifically with practical reference.
• You have a well-founded knowledge of 3D development tools like Unity as well as experience with AI/GenAI and XR technologies.
• You are able to quickly incorporate yourself into new issues and to approach new topics in a structured manner.
• Embossed commitment and self-initiative, economic and customer-oriented thinking and acting as well as a high affinity for new technologies characterize you.
• You have very good language skills in German and English.
