The Clinic for Congenital Heart Failure and Child Cardiology offers the entire range of treatment for children, young people and adults with congenital heart defects. The area of responsibility of the clinic also includes child intensive care medicine. In the intensive care unit of the clinic, children and adults are supplied with congenital heart diseases on 15 respiratory places. In addition, the station provides all forms of therapy for paediatric intensive care for the treatment of patients from traumatology, neurosurgery, oncology and child surgery. A special focus is on the care of complex congenital heart defects and of children with cardiovascular methods (ECMO, art heart) and after heart transplantation. All modern ventilation techniques including inhalative NO therapy and kidney replacement procedures are used at the station.

This is what awaits you:

• Care of stationary patients in the intensive care unit and implementation of complex intensive medical treatments incl. Lung, circulatory and kidney replacement methods
• Participation in the hospital's obercurity/reception services, including missions throughout the child intensive care centre
• Care of the other areas of the clinic for congenital heart defects and child cardiology (Normal/IMC Station, Ambulance), if necessary
• Training of assistant physicians and assistant staff
• Quality assurance, SOP/Protocol development as well as scientific work and teaching (studies, publications, promotion of young people)

Take this with you:

• Specialist in pediatric and youth medicine with a focus on child and youth cardiology
• Advanced or completed additional training Paediatric intensive care
• Long-term experience in intensive medical care of children and adults after heart surgery
• Scientific interest and willingness to participate actively in research and teaching; Promotion desired
• Interest in interdisciplinary cooperation with the various clinics of both UKSH locations and the children's clinics in the region
