As Head of Department (m/w/d) IT Infrastructure & IT Security, you are one of the most central areas in the IT & Medical Technology division. You shape the strategic development of our entire infrastructure – from network and data center to cloud and workplace services to identity & access management, security operations and KRITIS-relevant security architectures. You create clear structures, guide experts (m/w/d) team-proof and develop a technological foundation that protects clinical operation and actively drives digital transformation. Your tasks – strategic, business-critical, forward-looking: Strategic and organisational leadership Head of an interdisciplinary team from the fields of network, server / storage, data center / cloud, workplace, IAM and security operations Definition and implementation of a strategic roadmap for the entire IT infrastructure Ensuring stable, secure and economical IT operation Development of an open, transparent and capable leadership culture Responsibility for Infrastructure & Platform Architectures - You are responsible for all UMMD's technological core components: Network & Communication: Core, WAN, WLAN, Firewalls, Segmentation, SD-Access Data Center & Cloud: Virtualization, Storage, Backup Strategies, High Availability Workplace & Client Management: Lifecycle, Endpoint Security, Mobile Devices, Hybrid Work Identity & Access Management: role models, authorization processes, commissioning Security Operations: SIEM, SOC Processes, Vulnerability, Incident Response Security Architectures: Zero Trust, Perimeter and Endpoint Security, Hardening Standards Information security, KRITIS & Compliance Takeover of all KRITIS and §8a relevant responsibilities in the infrastructure sector Close cooperation with CISO, information security officer and data protection Implementation of standards and specifications from ISO 27001, BSI Grundschutz and KRITIS Regulation Providing complete documentation, auditability and demonstration Working with Business Continuity, Emergency Planning and Cyber Resilience Concepts Project, Budget and Resource Management Control of major modernisation and security projects (e.g. RZ transformation programs, network redesigns, IAM reorientation) Responsibility for budget planning, procurement, resource needs and service provider management Representation of the department in internal bodies, audits and external partners Ensuring measurable service quality and sustainable operating results Cooperation & Communication Clear prioritization, transparent decisions and address-oriented communication Promoting self-organisation, role clarification and solution-oriented cooperation Trustful cooperation with clinics, medical technology, administration, research and IT departments What awaits you: A key role in the digital development of university medicine The responsibility for all critical infrastructure and security architectures Spacious design playroom and clear support by the IT management (m/w/d) in a modern and professional environment The chance to shape the latest technologies, security architectures and cloud concepts Flexible working models, clear responsibilities and an estimating corporate culture

Multiannual leadership experience in IT infrastructure, IT security or RZ/network operation Very good understanding of modern infrastructure architectures (network, server, virtualization, storage, cloud, IAM) experience in KRITIS or highly regulated environments; Healthcare is a plus Expertise in security operations, monitoring, zero-trust approaches and security architectures Representative organizational, strategic and communicative skills Leadership that gives orientation, motivated and sustainably strengthens teams
