As part of the empowerment to apply the simplified construction process according to § 6 WissFG, KIT operates an internal, independent construction control. This function is based on the Project Process and Quality Management (PPQ) service unit and has the task of ensuring compliance with the statutory requirements for publicly funded construction projects in line with the RZBau, compliance with the requirements of the financial lenders (Bund and Land) and the Bureau of KIT.

Your area of responsibility includes: Accompanying project developments with the aspect of the later content and formal test requirements. Technical examination of building documents and other basic decision documents, such as job and space requirements plans, cost-effectiveness calculations, testing of cost planning and risk assessments. Ensuring the proper implementation of KIT construction projects, which are carried out in the respective valid construction process: quality assurance of standards, costs and dates during the implementation of the project with regard to the procurement and construction policy requirements, compliance with the requirements of the financial lenders (e.g. on higher-level topics such as climate protection, sustainability, etc.) and verification of the economic, economical and appropriate use of financial resources. Assessment of the monitoring of ongoing projects, preparation of ad hoc analyses and evaluations, as well as progress reports with notes and recommendations for the KIT Bureau and other stakeholders. Perception of the interface function vis-à-vis financial lenders as well as external audit and supervisory bodies, in particular with regard to process-related issues and ensuring regular project execution. Support in the conceptual further development of the construction project management at KIT by optimising existing planning, control and control instruments as well as developing recommendations for process and process optimization.

Complete university degree (Diplom (UNI)/Master) of the Department of Architecture (Building), Civil Engineering or a comparable degree with a focus on building management or project management. Insufficient knowledge and experience in the handling of demanding construction projects, ideally for construction projects in public service or in the field of public research.
