(Senior) IT System Engineer LAN / WAN (m/w/d)

In cooperation with the team, you design and operate the networks at our company locations. They manage and configure routers and switches in campus as well as in the Datacenter. Ensuring the functionality of the WAN / MAN connections as well as network-related services such as DNS and DHCP is also within their task. They work on site-wide projects to modernise our network infrastructure. Individually analyze and eliminate incidents and ensure safe operation of the systems in their area of responsibility. They cooperate with audits and implement security standards.

They bring a completed study of computer science or comparable training with relevant professional experience. They have profound experience in network administration - especially with technologies from Cisco. Extensive knowledge of switching, routing and network-related services such as DNS and DHCP are available. You have knowledge of network security (authentication, firewalling, segmentation). You have knowledge of the automation of processes in network administration. Experience in the design and operation of software-defined networking solutions such as VMWare NSX-T are of advantage. Basic knowledge of layer 2/3 encryption technologies is desirable. Manufacturer-specific certifications are advantageous. They are characterized by good organizational skills and a structured approach, as well as a good technical understanding and conceptual, analytical thinking. You are also flexible and will be happy to work in the team.
