Number: MER0003TAQ For you, a car is not only an elegant way to get from A to B, but you are also interested in the burning process behind it? In the Mercedes-Benz Technology Center we design the automotive generations of the future. The technical know-how of the brand is concentrated here at the locations Untertürkheim (engine and drivetrain development) and Sindelfingen (total vehicle development). Our department is responsible, among other things, for mechanical protection for internal and extra-motor investigations on engine components and engine systems of 4, 6 and 8 cylinders of petrol engines, which are also developed together with cooperation partners. The main tasks within the team include the planning, control, coordination and execution of the entire development/exploratory activities up to global approval. The team’s responsibility includes the type-guide, the thermal and NVH protection as well as the component development for air-guiding components, belt drives and peripheral components such as holders, noise insulations and carriers. These components are tested in an out-engine, as well as in the overall engine, and validated until standard tyres. As an intern*in, you are actively involved in the day-to-day business of our development engineers and learn what planning, testing, analysis and optimizations are behind a standard engine. Through close cooperation with various departments such as: construction, test bench, assembly, vehicle testing, you will get a comprehensive insight into the entire engine development.
