The Development Platforms for Vehicle Software (ITD/OE) department makes an important contribution to our MB.OS Business partners, through the creation of customer-oriented software products with first-class software engineering based on the main pillars Architecture & Software Engineering and Data Driven Development. Our team Architecture & Software Engineering provides solutions in the fields of AI Assisted Coding, Developer & AI Tooling, IAM solutions and security context topics. In order to successfully process these major topics, we focus on close cooperation with our internal and external partners as a key to success. It is important to us to deal constructively and honestly with each other. In our daily work, we are dealing with new technologies in the context of software engineering and working with international partners. Your tasks in detail: As part of the student activity, you will develop methods and tools that allow you to compare commercial or freely available language models within the productive application.

Using qualitative and quantitative metrics, you will formulate strategies and test how to recommend users of different domains the cost-benefit-optimal models/model providers

To do this, you will be able to use data from an existing AI gateway and use it to guide certain requests to alternative services

A previous work on an AI evaluating AI can be used to create qualitative comparisons with it

The activity can begin from June 2026. The final topics will be discussed with the university, you and us.

Advanced master's degree in (economic) informatics, information technology, software technology, mathematics, statistics, data science, data engineering, etc.

Secure knowledge of German and English in word and writing

Funded knowledge of programming with at least one modern programming language and the use of frameworks, ideally with first experience of API/Web(Backend) development

Experience in creating scientific texts and lectures

IT affinity and knowledge about agile development methods

Commitment and team skills

Analytical thinking and strategic working
