Packaging Development Manager (m/f/d)

Support for packaging lead in the design and implementation of the packaging strategy (innovation, sustainability, fuel for growth). Control of project priority, active participation in the innovation process and support in resource allocation. Leadership and further development of a powerful packaging team at several locations. Building and managing a strong Packaging Community of Practice. Definition and implementation of packaging policies, codes of practice and best practice processes as well as ensuring complete compliance (specifications, legal/tax requirements, sustainability). Central contact for marketing, RDQ, insights and segments/clusters for the development of packaging pipelines (innovation, sustainability, implementation, F4G). Integration into the Win-as-One innovation process and ensuring alignment with the annual plans. Further development of packaging design capabilities and promotion of improvements in the consumer experience. Ensuring Packaging Go-to-Market Excellence (user experience, sustainability, pressure, compliance, consumer feedback). Management or delegation of packaging development from the idea to the launch in compliance with all milestones and schedules. Representation of RDQ Packaging in cross-functional teams for innovation, renovations, portfolio extensions, value creation and sustainability initiatives. Ensure that prototypes for consumer testing are safe and representative, as well as planning the necessary post-trial tests. Creating precise technical data, specifications and safety-by-design inputs. Close cooperation with suppliers and external partners to successfully implement the programme. Head or delegation of Fuel-for-Growth-Packaging programs. Identification of new opportunities in efficiency, material optimization, system simplification and cost reduction. Expanding the packaging sustainability strategy across segments/clusters and ensuring complete compliance with all sustainability, legal and tax requirements.

Relevant scientific degree – e.g. food sciences, materials sciences, engineering – or at least 2 years detectable experience in a FMCG packaging development role or diploma in packaging technology or equivalent qualification Basic understanding of local packaging regulations and legal labelling English knowledge, including technical language Knowledge of production processes and project management Solution-oriented personality and hands-on mentality Very good MS Office knowledge
