At the Institute for the Protection of Maritime Infrastructures in Bremerhaven we explore and develop innovative solutions to strengthen the resilience of maritime infrastructures and to make them adaptable, safe and sustainable. The DLR Institute for the Protection of Maritime Infrastructures is a research and development facility dedicated to maritime safety. One main objective of the Institute's activities is to make maritime socio-technical infrastructures and their operation more resilient. This is achieved, inter alia, by risk and resilience analyses of maritime infrastructures. We are looking for motivated and committed candidates who are interested in modeling risks and resilience as well as quantitative and qualitative analyses. In this exciting position, you actively participate in groundbreaking research projects and make an important contribution to improving the safety of maritime systems. Your tasks Further development of existing methods of risk and resilience modelling for qualitative and quantitative analyses of maritime systems Implementation of risk and resilience assessments of critical maritime infrastructures such as offshore wind farms, ports and LNG terminals Presentation and publication of your research results in renowned journals and at scientific conferences Possibility of your own scientific qualification as part of a doctorate

completed academic studies (university diploma or master) in computer science, an engineering field (e.g. electrical engineering, mechanical engineering), scientific field (e.g. mathematics, technomatics) or other studies relevant to the activity Knowledge of the development, modelling and simulation of functional and/or technical system models Knowledge of risk assessment and reliability analysis good verbal and written communication skills in English
