Research Assistant Media Studies

We are looking for:In the Faculty I, we are looking for a scientific assistant at the Chair of Digital Media and Methods at 01.09.2025 on the following conditions:

• 100 % = 39.83 hours
• Pay group 13 TV-L
• limited for the duration of a representation for a planned parental period, expected up to 08.07.26

Your tasks:

• Presentation and publication of research results in the international environment.
• Participation in research projects, publications and third-party applications of the professorship in the field of digital, social and mobile media, digital research methods and sensor media.
• Individual research in the field of digital media.
• Participation in the studies of the Media Science Seminar in the field of the theory and practice of digital media and methods.
• Participation in the construction of a method training in BA and MA.
• Teaching obligation: 4 semester weeks

Your profile:

• Completed academic studies (BA, Diploma, Master, Magister, Lehramt, comparable foreign degree) in media science, sociology, communication science, cultural science, (Socio) informatics or a related subject.
• Research interest in one of these areas: digital, mobile or social media, platform studies, sensor media, AI, algorithms, critical data studies, app studies, digital methods, digital ethnography, software studies or related research fields.
• Required are knowledge of digital research methods or experience in dealing with digital data or the willingness to acquire them.
• Independent and team-oriented working.
• Flowing English knowledge in word and writing
