The candidate will participate in the project ''Examination of the causal role of fronto-temporal networks in self-proclaims and emotional conflicts by tDCS at Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) (P5)' at the chair of Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Christian Beste.

The project investigates whether the stimulation of the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex and the temporal lobe improves cognitive emotional control or self-critical distortion in depressive patients. In order to investigate pathophysiological changes, EEG measurements with focus on theta and alpha oscillations are used. The aim of the project is to analyse the interaction of information processing in these frequency bands in order to identify the specific contributions of these neural mechanisms in cognitive emotional control and self-promotion.
