The LVR-Institut für Landeskunde und Regionalgeschichte explores the Rhineland region with its special history, culture and language. Diversity and interdisciplinary exchange shape our work of research, documentation and communication. You take over the leadership of the Department ''Everyday Culture and Language''. The area of everyday culture deals with the intangible cultural heritage in the Rhineland. The aim of language science is to develop the linguistic profile of the region (or individual regions or certain places). Your tasks include: Scientific research in the field of language and/or everyday culture in the Rhineland Documentation and mediation Heading and strategic management of a professionally broad, interdisciplinary department with at least 12 employees Coordination and further development of the interdisciplinary profile in close coordination with the overall strategy of the house Developing an inter- and transdisciplinary knowledge management to profil the core topics “Remembrance culture”, “immaterial cultural heritage”, “intercultural everyday life” and “language geographic structures of the Rhineland” Strategic development of the central fields of work (including research into regional languages in the Rhineland, visual anthropology/ethnographic documentary) Conceptual development of digital offerings and media formats, such as the “Portal of Everyday Cultures”, “Dat Portal” and the scientific film, in cooperation with other LVR departments Development of sustainable concepts for scientific development, evaluation and target group-oriented presentation of collections Care and development of national and international cooperation and research networks

A Master, Magister or a University Diploma in Cultural Anthropology European ethnology Ethnic group Empirical Cultural Studies German language Language and Literature Sciences and

a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in one of the abovementioned fields. What we need Ideally, you will bring a doctorate in a relevant field with reference to the work fields of the department. You have multi-year professional experience, of which at least two years in a position with personnel responsibility. You have embossed conflict, persuasive and motivational skills that characterize a modern leadership. Practice-proven experience in the design and implementation of scientific cooperation projects – in particular interdisciplinary and with regional impact – characterizes your professional career. Strategic competence in the further development of modern, demand-oriented regional research is your profile. You have well-founded knowledge of digital presentation and communication formats in the field of linguistic and cultural sciences. In-depth knowledge of regional language research, including language photography, as well as onomastics bring you with you. You are familiar with the current specialist discourses on intangible cultural heritage and ideally have experience with visual anthropological methods. Security in dealing with household control, controlling and contract and grant matters are also brought with you.
