Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Officer (m/f/d)

The task of the Climate Adaptation Manager (m/w/d) is essentially the implementation of the project “Worms Resilient Climate Investment Planning and Digital Decision Support”, which is funded under the Horizon Europe Programme Pathways2Resilience (P2R). The aim is to support the development of a digital climate adaptation hashboard and a participatively developed climate investment plan for the city of Worms. Further tasks are the support of the implementation of the concept of adaptation to climate change (KLAK) and the climate protection and efficiency concept (KLIK) of the city of Worms. The coordination and implementation of the EU project includes the independent coordination, preparation, implementation and documentation of the individual measures and activities to implement the project including public relations, project management, controlling and evaluation. Information, training and networking activities with potential project partners are further tasks. The focus is on the integration of climate risks in municipal planning and investment processes, coordination of internal administrative bodies, cooperation with external partners (start-up, research institute) and active involvement of civil society. Their role is not only operational but also strategic: You are responsible for the implementation of all the work packages of the project, represent the project in European networks and ensure that the results are transferred to the administrative structure. The Climate Adaptation Managerin is working closely with a further Climate Adaptation Managerin and the Climate Change Manager*in the department. A regular exchange format with the French climate partner city of Metz is maintained by the department. Tasks include: independent project development and control (partly in English) Support and further development of the climate investment plan based on existing strategies (KLAK, Heat Action Plan and KLIK) Organisation and implementation of participation formats with actors from civil society, business and administration (e.g. climate adaptation price, workshops) Working with the organisation and implementation of events and training on the topics of the project Funding Management and Project Documentation Information and public relations and network work Travel to a European project meeting and two conferences

The implementation of the project involves all tasks of professional project and process management. In addition to the necessary expertise, you need a strong interest in adapting to climate change, climate change and sustainability. In addition, you should be able to work strategically and conceptually, even moderation capabilities are desirable. You should bring comprehensive social skills, integrity, team skills, communication skills and enthusiasm for the task. Perfect written and oral expressability as well as secure mastery of popular MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams) are assumed. Experience in lectures and in the management of working groups and small teams is of advantage. Good knowledge of English is a prerequisite as the project language is English. The workplace requires a special degree of willingness to use and motivation, even outside usual office hours, as well as the willingness to continue and participate in international project meetings.
