This makes the job interesting for me: As an innovation driver in the energy industry, 50Hertz is driving the integration of renewable energies. The extensive network expansion cannot be realized without the provision of IT infrastructure and networks. As part of our international IT infrastructure team, I am responsible for the stable operation and the continuous development of our highly available on-premise computing and storage platforms (VMware, NetApp). In my role as a system engineer, I drive the transfer of knowledge independently. My tasks: Architecture Design and continuous development of our on-premise infrastructure for virtualization (VMware) services and storage and backup (Netapp), developing a GitOps-based system management, Identification of technology updates and their added value and inclusion in the technology roadmap; assessing the performance and compliance of implemented systems and performing regular audits and taking necessary architectural adaptations; Training and mentoring of other IT team members in terms of architecture and design principles. Operation multi-zone implementation and management of VMware and storage infrastructures, Automation of standard and operating processes (e.g. deployments, patching) with Ansible Ensuring the high-availability operation of the landscape by co-operation in the Incident-Resolution process within the framework of 3rd-level support (24/7-readiness for about 4 weeks).
