Number: MER00042B1 The MO/EBP department is responsible for the new-type design of the parts that the bodywork needs to produce a body. Not only are our internal presses such as e.g. Bremen, Sindelfingen and Kuppenheim, meant all sizes. We plan the steel and aluminum sheet parts, hot-formed high-strength steel components, tube parts, aluminum die casting parts, aluminum extruded profiles and other technologies that are incorporated into the raw body. This is not only about individual parts, but also about assemblies such as complete rear weighing. We carry out these planning activities not only for the already mentioned locations in Germany, but for all Mercedes-Benz structures worldwide, such as Tuscaloosa (USA), Kecskemét (Hungary) and East London (South Africa). China and Mexico also belong to this, but due to their joint venture status have different planning depths. To fulfill the task, we are in constant coordination with our partners from development, purchasing, production and quality. We advise and support these. We are in close coordination with our suppliers, assess their concepts regarding costs and dates, this over the entire product life cycle. This means that we have a high transparency on the technical and economic contents of the sizes we supervise. In order to be ready for the future, we strive for a procurement market analysis in the sense of a Technical Quick Checks at our suppliers, where you can participate in the lead. The aim is to develop a detailed list of raw material suppliers and their capabilities and equipment at different locations. The technologies are considered sheet metal forming (cold/warm forming or press hardening) aluminum die casting, extrusion, tube parts production, roll profiling. Your tasks in detail: Development of a database in our Mercedes-Benz system world that gives all the areas involved insight into the supplier structure Development of a technology-specific question catalogue for querying or Request to the supplier Catalogizing the answers from suppliers to our requests in the database Keep and check the enquiries to create complete documentation Sampling local visits to suppliers to plausibility of the data In addition, you will get an insight into the work of the production planning of Mercedes-Benz AG and can get to know the Sindelfingen plant together with us. The activity can begin from July 2026.
