Cyber Engineering Expert (m/f/d)

You are part of thyssenkrupp's CERT and support this group-wide mission to identify and investigate IT security incidents You operate the central IT infrastructure and applications of the Cyber Defense Center and continuously develop them to cover internal and external requirements A Kubernetes-based “Hyperconverged” infrastructure consisting of a variety of containerized applications, from micro-service to app cluster In addition, keep the existing systems up-to-date and maintain them using Ansible Playbooks, which you develop independently for new systems and applications You configure systems according to the principle “Security and Privacy by Design” and develop automations and integrations according to the principle “Don't repeat yourself (DRY)”, but also “Keep it simple, stupid (KISS)” You integrate the most diverse software components within a homogeneous system landscape, which consists essentially of Linux and Open Source components, but meets the requirements of a heterogeneous group-wide IT landscape If necessary, you will conduct further analyses and research on solution alternatives, integration options and functional scope of IT solutions, taking into account technical and non-technical requirements You manage and maintain the servers and networks in the laboratories of the Cyber Defense Center and the data center in Frankfurt and adapt these incl. physical aspects (cableing, etc.) as needed You proactively inform yourself about relevant new technologies and continuously adapt your knowledge to technical progress

You have a successfully completed study of computer science or a comparable training with the focus on system integration or application development You bring several years of professional experience in operational IT operations according to DevOp's principles and knowledge about IT security and development of a high degree of automation with You have deeper knowledge in the areas of networks (including switch and firewall configuration), IT infrastructures and Linux operating systems as well as recognized tools and solutions, such as Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, GitLab and HashiCorp Vault You feel at home in an IT infrastructure characterized by Linux and Open Source components and move easily on Linux-based client and server systems You communicate fluently in German and English (in word and writing) and may even be able to score with additional industry standard certifications such as “Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation” or other Linux or DevOps certificates
