In six semesters, you will acquire well-founded knowledge at the interface of business management and information technology. The dual study of business informatics gives you both IT expertise in the fields of software development, databases, ERP systems and IT infrastructure, as well as a deep understanding of business processes, digital business models and business relationships. During your entire studies, you are employed at the VBL and change in the three-month rhythm between theoretical phases at the university and practical phases in the company. In practice, you will get to know various areas of expertise at our location in Karlsruhe and at our subsidiary CONITAS. You are actively involved in projects, analyse processes, develop IT solutions and increasingly take responsibility for their own tasks. A special focus is on the connection of theory and concrete application. You address the role of IT in the company, learn about methods of project and business process management and apply them directly in the company context. You will continuously develop your technical, methodological and social skills, from technical implementation to strategic IT decisions.

You have a completed (professional)higher education. Interest in economic processes, digital technologies and the design of IT-supported solutions is what distinguishes you. Analytical thinking skills, a structured way of working as well as the pleasure of penetrating complex relationships, bring you with you. You are characterized by team skills, communication strength and self-initiative – and are happy to participate actively in joint projects. You have solid mathematics skills and a good understanding of logical and systematic processes. You have ideally already gained initial experience with IT systems or programming. You have good English skills and are open to bilingual studies (German/English).
