Senior Backend Developer - Node.js / TypeScript (m/f/d)

Architecture Mitgestaltung: Together with our architect, you meet decisions about service cuts, patterns and scaling strategies. Take your own perspective and take Ownership for subsystems, from choosing the right patterns to securing in live mode. To actively shape Tech Roadmap: Together with engineering and product management, you will prioritise technical initiatives, identify strategic technology investments and set your own accents. Cross-Team action: You work closely with our other developer teams and product range, complemented by regular coordination with the DevOps team. You drive interface topics forward and make sure that technical decisions are carried across team boundaries. Team-Enablement: You conduct structured code reviews, share your knowledge proactively with mid- and junior devs and drive best practices forward. Since other teams deliver inner-source contributions to our repositories, you are also their first point of contact for reviews and architecture feedback. Scaling & Resilience: Event-Driven Architecture, graceful degradation and robust mistreatment in unstable third-party systems are standard for you, not option. With Sentry, ELK-Stack and Prometheus/Grafana, you will ensure transparency in live operation. Operational health of our own services is our team responsibility, non-delegated problem.

Experience: Multiannual backend development, of which at least 2 years in a senior role with technical responsibility. Several years of it productive with Node.js and TypeScript, ideally with NestJS. Distributed Systems: You have designed and operated microservice architectures, including asynchronous communication (RabbitMQ) and sophisticated database design (PostgreSQL, Redis). Idempotence, data consistency and error tolerance in payment or transaction contexts are familiar to you. Cloud & Infrastructure: AWS and Kubernetes clusters are not a Buzzword bingo for you, but tools. You know when what service makes sense and where the stumbling blocks lie. Quality & Delivery: TDD, Code Reviews and CI/CD via GitLab are your standard repertoire. Senior Mindset: You meet technical decisions confidently, establish trade-offs cleanly and keep your knowledge active. Communication: You clearly argue technical decisions, communicate safely in German as well as in English and bring a good portion of humor. AI as a tool (Plus, no need): You have already gained experience with AI-based developer tools like Claude Code? With us a clear plus.
