Our customer is an internationally active company in special machine construction. At the Salzgitter site complex technical systems are created for demanding applications and international projects.

In the course of further growth, we are looking for a Head of Purchasing & Supplier Management (m/w/d), which leads to strategic and operational purchasing, to build up modern supplier structures and to develop purchasing in a sustainable manner.

Management and management of strategic and operational purchasing Development and implementation of purchasing and delivery strategies in close coordination with the management Responsibility for the strategic orientation of shopping and the further development of processes, systems and qualifications in the team Construction and development of professional supplier management Analysis, use and qualification of pan-European procurement markets Optimization of contract standards and responsibility for price, contract and annual negotiations Development of supplier risk strategies, e.g. best-cost country sourcing, material price strategies and dual/single sourcing approaches Identification and implementation of potential savings while mastering supplier risks Responsibility for Product Cost Optimization for Purchase Parts and Purchases in close cooperation with Engineering and other departments Development and implementation of product group strategies, localization strategies and process improvements Ensuring the transparency of purchasing volumes with the support of digital tools Control of procurement, process optimization and digitization projects Professional leadership, motivation and further development of employees Company representation to national and international suppliers

Multiannual professional and leadership experience in purchasing a manufacturing industrial company, ideally in mechanical engineering or special machine construction Experience with purchasing volumes in the middle double-digit million range and a rather fragmented demand structure Experience in the development and implementation of purchasing strategies, supplier strategies and product group strategies Practice in purchasing transformation projects, e.g. the construction of purchasing organisations, process optimization or digitalization in purchasing Experience in supplier management, contract management and demanding supplier negotiations Successfully completed studies, e.g. business management, economic engineering, mechanical engineering or comparable; alternatively a comparable qualification Safe handling of ERP systems and MS Office English knowledge and readiness to travel Communication strength, enforcement ability and horizontal leadership skills in cooperation with internal process partners Strategic thinking, complexity management and clear implementation strength
