It is possible to take over persons who have been employed for life (equal status or the next lower grade, but without career change) with the consent of the Federal Ministry of Finance (BMF). The setting is limited for the duration of the special project “Developing box”, longest for 12 months Since 1 September 2020, BImA has been fully responsible for the management and development of its well-established 38,000 apartments. It is managed by strategically significant scattered property as well as large residential areas in fortified urban areas. The division takes care, with housing care, of the local and affordable housing space for the employees of the federal government, in particular in tense housing markets in strong economic regions and large cities. In addition to the current focus on modernisation and refurbishment, the Housing division stands for sustainable quarter development and thus also has a strong focus on the topics of demographic change, digitization and climate change. The division is organizationally divided into four regional areas, eight customer centers and 28 service teams. In the West Regional Area with its two customer centers and eight service teams at various locations in North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate and Hessen, a stock of around 12.650 units is managed.
