System Engineer/Architect for the Development of Opto-Electro-Mechanical Systems (m/w/d)

At the Optics Design Center in Jena, we develop opto-electro-mechanical design solutions for AR/VR glasses, autonomous driving (LiDAR, Driver Monitoring, ADAS camera systems, eye tracking), robotics, action cameras, smartphones, endoscopes and many other applications. Responsibility for the system architecture of complex, highly automated production products including piloting of series projects

technical order clarification with the customer and support of sales in technical customer discussions

Create specifications for system development and system assemblies

Coordination of development tasks and technical guidance of individual engineering project members at system level in close coordination with project management

Support for technical integration and validation of modules at system level (creating control and system validation plans) in cooperation with relevant departments and customers

Support in the technological development of the company

Documentation and evaluation of design risks

successfully completed (specialized) university studies in the fields of physics, electrical engineering, photonics, optics, precision engineering or a related subject

multiannual professional experience in industrial development environment mandatory

cross-disciplinary understanding in the fields of optics, mechanics, electronics

Basic knowledge of quality assurance in manufacturing

Knowledge of general manufacturing processes in technology development

Joy in cooperation with teams at the site and internationally as well as in communication with customers

knowledge of English in word and writing

international readiness (in an expression of about 20%)
