As Senior Manager Mergers & Acquisitions, you will take over the independent management of M&A projects with the aim of contributing to ZEISS's growth strategy through focused acquisitions/shareholdings/joint ventures. Identification and evaluation of potential investment opportunities including Discussions with intermediaries (such as investment banks) and internal stakeholders (SBUs)

independent planning and execution of due diligence processes in close cooperation with internal experts as well as external service providers / lawyers incl. Set deadlines and allocation of employee resources in coordination with Head of M&A

Creation and coordination of business plans in cooperation with the segments and based assessment of companies using different valuation methods and market data

independent development of appropriate transaction structures, including tax and tactical aspects, independent negotiation of legal documents, e.g. share purchase agreements, and independent preparation and presentation of decision-making documents for both the Executive Board and the Supervisory Board

regular on-the-job coaching by colleagues (Manager M&A as well as interns/work students) as well as support for interns

Coordination of strategic projects (e.g. in the field of evaluation, training sessions) and independent implementation of PMI success controls of past M&A projects

a completed technical or business studies and at least 5 years of professional experience in the M&A environment (investment banking, consulting, private equity)

Experience in the assessment of companies as well as the implementation of audits (due diligence) and the implementation of results derived therefrom

a quantitative analysis competence, including assessment of macroeconomic and accounting indicators, and a structured approach to the development of deal-specific transaction structures

strategic thinking to assess the attractiveness of potential target companies and to assess compatibility with the ZEISS strategy

a high degree of independent work organisation and the ability to prioritize individual tasks independently

very good knowledge of English and German
