Conception, design and development of a scalable and robust software architecture for unmanned flight systems (UAS) with strict consideration of security aspects (security-by-design)

Integration of IT security requirements into software architecture based on BSI basic protection and relevant cybersecurity standards for critical infrastructures

Ensure that software development is consistent according to defined architecture requirements and defined security policies

Strategic planning of software approval according to DO-178C; performing the functional partitioning and separation of software components based on their criticality (DAL) as well as performing Threat Modeling to identify attack vectors

Creation and maintenance of architectural documentation (High-Level/Low-Level Design) in compliance with aviation standards and documentation requirements for IT security audits

Definition and protection of the interfaces between software modules and between software and hardware, in particular with a view to avoiding unauthorized access

Selection of suitable technologies, frameworks and patterns that support both performance and certifiability and resilience against cyber attacks

Technical support of development teams in complex design decisions and promotion of security awareness within the software life cycle

Complete computer science or engineering studies (Master/Diplom) or a comparable qualification with profound experience in software architecture

Funded knowledge of information security, ideally with demonstrable experience in the application of BSI basic protection or comparable frameworks (e.g. ISO/IEC 27001)

Knowledge of software certification according to DO-178C and experience in the application of safety standards in aviation

Experience in the design of complex, distributed systems and in the application of modern architectural patterns (e.g. Layered Architecture, Microservices or Component-Based Design) taking into account security barriers

Deep knowledge of C/C++ development as well as experience with Qt framework and its embedding in complex operating system environments (Linux/Windows)

Safe handling of UML, modeling tools, agile processes and experience in methods such as Threat Modeling or Risk Assessment

Experience with modern development environments, tools and understanding of integration in CI/CD pipelines (ideally including security scanning tools/DevSecOps)

The ability to identify and translate complex dependencies between functional security (safety) and information security (security)

Very good knowledge of German and reliable English in word and writing

Enforcement, Reliability, Reliability, High Integrity and the ability to communicate safely at both technical and regulatory levels (audits/certifications)
