As a business developer in the field of high-tech and new materials, process technology e.g. Polymer materials, air or Space or Defence will help you to transfer materials and technologies developed at IMWS to new markets, strategic partnerships and industrial applications. You actively support the technology transfer, strengthen cooperation with industrial partners and identify new business potential. The tasks are divided into three core areas:

  1. Specialized tasks (core competencies) market, industry and competition analyses; deriving market entry and growth strategies for high-tech materials, new process technology and manufacturing solutions. Identification of customer requirements and development of performance and product offerings in the mentioned technology fields. Participation in the further development of product, portfolio, sales and recovery strategies in technology-intensive markets and the transfer of research results. Calculation of solutions, structural and cost assessments and comparison of existing technologies. Development of new business models and transfer concepts (patents, licenses, intellectual property rights) and evaluation of technical options under cost-benefit points. Funded technical understanding in the field and consulting stakeholders on technical feasibility.
  2. Implementation/project tasks acquisition of industrial and development projects in technology and future markets; Creation of offer concepts and calculations. Planning, implementation and evaluation of market and technology tests as well as validation measures as well as documentation of the results and derivation of recommendations for action. Coordination of transformation or Implementation projects with interdisciplinary teams and ensuring appointments, resources and quality. Education: Completed academic studies in engineering/natural sciences with sound business know-how. Ideally complemented by further training in IP and patent management, innovation management or technology transfer. Experience: Multiannual professional experience in the technical environment, ideally in the field of high-tech and new materials, process technology (e.g. polymer materials) for the target industries Space or Defence. Deep industry knowledge in at least one of these target industries. Long-standing expertise in business model development, transfer management and marketing and acquisition. Strong network in these areas. Evidence of experience in cooperation with research institutions, ideally with Fraunhofer.
