About peptide-based immunotherapy The translationally oriented department of peptide-based immunotherapy under the leadership of Prof. Juliane Walz researches and develops T-cell-based immunotherapies for infection and tumor diseases at the University Hospital Tübingen. Our overarching goal is to quickly lead promising research results in peptide-based immunotherapy to clinical application for patients. Our department therefore includes not only an application-oriented research area that investigates the mechanisms of T-cell-mediated immune detection of tumors and virus-infected cells via HLA-presented peptides and develops new immunotherapy concepts, but also the active substance peptide laboratory, which produces peptides for clinical studies in a next step.
