Engineer / Engineer / Computer Science Engineer (w/m/d) for Infrastructure Security and High Availability in Unit I 24 ''Security in data centres of the Federal Administration'' (debate group to E 11 TVöD or the comparable grade group according to BBesO) indefinitely at the office of Bonn Unit I 24 is a service and competence centre on data center security, infrastructure security, high availability and reliability of data centers. In these topics we support our customers in the Federal Administration through recommendations, requirements and specifications, as well as through individual consultation and examination. We are investigating the causes of disturbances and failures and developing appropriate countermeasures. We sensitize through lectures and publish our findings and recommendations for the benefit of the planners and operators of data centres – also beyond the federal administration.

Infrastructure security (physical security) of data centers, including location selection, structural structure, energy supply, air conditioning, fire protection, access protection, intrusion and sabotage protection, protection against unwanted water, technical monitoring. High availability and reliability of data centers, including IT control, information security management, business continuity management. Your activities are: Consultation and support of the Federal Administration on Infrastructure Security and High Availability of Data Centres; Support in the creation and testing of appropriate concepts. Examination and revision of data centres (and other highly available IT structures and IT services) according to BSI standards and other relevant standards and guidelines. Analysis of faults and causes of failure of IT structures and development of countermeasures. Development of organizational and technical safety requirements, safety concepts, guidelines and solutions – in cooperation with our customers and the other units of the BSI. Development of basic documents and BSI standards on infrastructure security and high availability – as a consultancy basis and publication for the BSI target groups. Technical support for projects and studies on infrastructure security and high availability.

A completed study (Bachelor/FH-Diplom) of technical building equipment, building technology, electrical engineering, energy engineering, computer science, technical information technology, IT security, construction engineering, civil engineering or a comparable, relevant technical field with a technical focus. As an alternative, a Bachelor Professional in the fields of building technology, electrical engineering, information technology, security/safety or a comparable, relevant technical specialist, recognized according to DQR/EQR level 6. You have basic knowledge of the relevant standards on technical building equipment, infrastructure security and data center construction and basic knowledge of the handling of construction projects. You have the ability to conceptually work as well as the convincing and target group-oriented representation of complex characteristics. Professional experience in the field of technical building equipment or infrastructure security (especially in the case of computer centres), data center operations, information security management or business continuity management is advantageous. Experience in the technical consulting of authorities or in project management.
